Some of my favourite videos to watch on YouTube are monthly favourites. I love seeing what products/items my favourite bloggers are loving as of late, and I figured I’d join the party. Over the next few weeks, I’ll let you know what my favourites have been in the past little while! Coming soon will be fashion and random favourites, but to start off we have my top 5 beauty favourites! Please excuse my chipped nails…I could try to come up with an excuse, but let’s get real, I was excited to photograph these products and was too lazy to touch up… View Post

Those who know me personally may have noticed “hey, where did Carly go on Facebook?” (or no one noticed and I am incredibly self-involved to think that anyone would care that I disappeared from the social network). Anyways, I finally took the plunge and deactivated my account. This isn’t the first time that I’ve deleted Facebook, and I don’t find it as difficult as many think it would be. I took a hiatus last year for a few months, and it was incredibly refreshing. To be honest, I reopened my account during one particularly boring lecture, and I was sucked into… View Post

This past Monday, I attended my convocation and have officially graduated from University. For a while there I wasn’t sure if this day would come…I can chalk it up to my tough program all I want, but the fact is that I was far more interested in building relationships than getting good grades in my early years at university. Can you really blame me? Probably yes, since my parents paid for me to get an education, not make friends. But I pulled it all together in the end and managed to achieve both…snaps! I’ll never forget my first day at… View Post

Summer 2014 will be the most independent summer I have ever had. I worked at a summer camp for three years, and last summer I lived at home while working at a golf course. While some of my greatest memories and friendships derive from camp, I surrendered a degree of freedom (and any hopes of making or saving money) in order to work with kids in Muskoka all summer. 2013 was a big change, as I worked part-time and was closer to the city. However, living at home (while it does have its perks) kept me from feeling totally independent. Now,… View Post

Cooking has never been my strong point. When I’m hungry, I’m hungry NOW, and am usually too impatient to wait around for my meal to be ready. I don’t know if it’s having my own kitchen or if I’m just growing up, but I’m starting to really enjoy putzing around the kitchen. It’s so satisfying when you have a delicious finished product in front of you, even if it’s something simple and fairly easy to make. When it’s not pizza pockets, it’s something special! My mom made me spaghetti squash a lot growing up, and I LOVED it…maybe it’s because she… View Post

Let’s get real. I often get into a great routine of working out every day, and then as soon as I miss a day…POOF. It’s McDonald’s and Netflix with the gym as nothing but a distant memory. Convincing myself to push past the temptation of my bed is a seemingly impossible task, but this summer I am DETERMINED to break my track record. When I picture myself getting whipped into shape, this is what comes to mind:     Okay, maybe not being yelled at by an incarcerated musical version of Brooke Wyndham. But pushing yourself to the limit and being… View Post
