Five Faves: Blanket Scarves

During the cooler months- and let’s get real, this is Canada, so for most of the year- I love to bundle up in as many layers as humanly possible. However, I am also the kind of person that struggles to adjust to temperature changes. If it’s freezing outside, as soon as I enter a building I am sweating and feel the sudden urge to take off all of my clothes (don’t worry I don’t…unless I just got home, in which case I do what I want), after which I eventually recover and am frozen once again. This means that I need layers that are easy to take on and off. Enter the blanket scarf.

Blanket scarves are the best of so many worlds: big cozy blanket, chic scarf, and added warmth. It provides somewhere to burrow my face when it’s -1000 degrees outside, it’s easy to whip on and off when I enter a building, and I use it as a shawl/blanket when I’m dying of hypothermia at my office. They also look SO great and add new dimension to any outfit. I love layering them with cute coats, or with a vest and a sweater with detailed sleeves. They SCREAM autumn, and I can’t get enough. I am determined to add the scarves featured below to my collection (1/5 of the way there; thanks, Joe Fresh). Yes, they are mostly plaid; no, I don’t care. Plaid + huge blanket = one happy Carly.
