March Favourites

Hi, my name is Carly Clydesdale and I am a beauty product addict. I am obsessed with finding new and exciting lotions & potions to make myself look like a better version of myself.

Does it smell good? I want it. Does it have shiny packaging? I want it. Did a blogger tell me it works? I want it. Does it do all of these things? I DEFINITELY want it.

That one about the bloggers is important: monthly favourites are a GOLD MINE of product reviews that tell me whether it’s worth it to try a product. Of course I will use my common sense in deciding whether something is right for me (usually…) but it’s so fun to see what other girls are trying and loving. I took a look back at the beauty products I’ve been loving for the past few weeks (I know, it’s practically mid-April) and decided to share the wealth!

Let me know in the comments if there are any beauty products that you have been obsessed with! I’d love to hear what I should try next.

Tartelette Palette
I got this palette less than 2 weeks ago and it is already a favourite. The matte shades are to die for, and it’s so easy to go from a simple daytime look to a more dramatic smokey eye. This is DEFINITELY worth the hype and worth the price tag. That reminds me of a related favourite: brown eyeliner! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good thick black wing…but there’s something about brown liner that is softer and more wearable. I’ve been living for the Free Spirit/Force of Nature combo on my lids with Multi-Tasker smudged on my lashline…instant sex kitten eyes. Sorry mom.

Beauty Blender
I fell back in love with my Beauty Blender when I received a new one in my Birchbox. I was giving my skin a foundation vacation for a while, but missed how it evened out my skin tone. Enter the Beauty Blender, aka my saving grace. It’s amazing how much of a difference this lil sponge makes in sheering out my foundation and giving me just enough coverage without overdoing it. Side note: please clean your Beauty Blenders. I just gave mine a deep clean for the first time ever (I know, I’m disgusting) and it’s incredible how much crap comes out of it when you thought it was clean. PSA: CLEAN YO SPONGES.

NEST Indigo Perfume
I got this perfume as a VIB gift when I ordered my Tartelette palette, and boy oh boy am I glad I picked it. The scent is incredibly warm and sexy (gross) and sticks around on my skin for hours. I think I may have found my new signature scent! …Okay, I have like 7 signature scents. Honourable mention to Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black and Chloe. Since Chloe is basically the signature scent of every girl I know, it doesn’t count…right? I digress…NEST is unreal.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish in Lively Lilac
This is the ultimate spring nail polish and it doesn’t break the piggy bank! I love any nail polish that promises to dry quickly (I’m impatient) and this polish actually lasts a decent amount of time without chipping. As a bonus, the colour payoff is awesome and you could totally get away with 1 coat if you’re strapped for time. I wore this shade for most of March, and suspect I will be wearing it well into the summer.

Dove Purely Pampering Moisturizing Body Wash
Coconut Milk with Jasmine Petals. Enough said. I needed a new body wash and picked this one up on a whim…it smells SO GOOD. It foams up really nicely which is always great, and the scent actually manages to linger on your skin without drying it out. I’ve been following up with the St. Ives Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract Body Lotion and I swear I smell better than I’ve ever smelled.
